Lying at the eastern section of the San Fernando Valley, Glendale and its western neighbor Burbank are synonymous with "The Valley" often mentioned in Hollywood films set in the Greater Los Angeles Area. According to the State government’s figures for 2005, Glendale was the third largest city in Los Angeles County and the seventeenth largest city in all of California in 2005.
